Prof. dr. Rose-Marie Dröes receives Frans Banninck Cocq medal!
Last Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, prof. dr. Rose-Marie Dröes received the Frans Banninck Cocq medal. It is awarded to individuals who have rendered extraordinary service to Amsterdam over a period of at least 12 years. Dröes received the award for her commitment of nearly 40 years in improving the quality of life of people with dementia.
In 1992, Rose-Marie conducted pioneering research on the effective treatment of people with dementia and in 1993 she started setting up meeting centers, low-threshold neighborhood social facilities for people with dementia, where proven psychosocial interventions were applied.
In addition to her academic achievements, she has also inspired many students, professionals, administrators and volunteers with her insights and experiences.
