Positive results on Exergaming

We like to draw your attention towards a great study by Joeke van Santen and colleagues on Exergaming, that is  published in JAMDA. The study shows positive results on cognitive and social behaviour of people with dementia and on distress and sense of competente of informal caregivers.

Exergaming (exercise and gaming) is an innovative intervention that helps people with dementia to enjoy moving and exercising indoor with the aid of moving games in a virtual surrounding. The researchers published an informative factsheet with tips for implementation in day care settings, including meeting centres. You can download it here. It is highly recommended to all who wish to implement Exergaming in their own day centre.
